Hi folks, I am trying to solve a starter motor problem of cranking slowly when hot. My question is does anyone no the location of the engine earth strap. I only ask as I cannot find it and don't want to have to commit to taking the under engine trays of on my back in the cold if I don't have to. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers Dave

My earth strap is located by the alternator, if you look UP at the alternator from underneath you can't miss it. Mine looks very OEM so assume they are all there. Could be a loose connection at the starter motor, have you checked the positive jump start connection at the bulkhead, both sides as that goes to the motor, more than likely a dodgy motor, if you give year of vehicle X5Sport will give the most likely cause
