Wireless iPhone charging
Wireless iPhone charging
My car doesn’t have the extended Bluetooth option, so what are my options for wireless charging my iPhone X?
Does anyone use the BMW snap-in wireless charging adapter?

Re: Wireless iPhone charging
I’ve got a rubber based charging pad ordered that I plan to store in the arm rest storage bin and connect to usb power from the 12v socket in there. I’m not sure how it’s going to look/fit/function but it’s cheap enough to abandon if it’s not great. I’ll let you know how that pans out when it arrives.

That’s another option, but would you leave it connected all the time? The BMW adaptor does look quite pricey!

Re: Wireless iPhone charging
I have the wireless charger and it works a treat
I currently have an iPhone 7 with a Mophie wireless charge/battery pack which although now makes the phone almost as big as those in the 70's is a great solution for long hours on site and convenient charging.
In my M5 I had a wireless mat just in front of the gear stick and placed the phone on that - in the X5 the phone is secure which suits my driving style better ::)

Hooligan! )
If there was power under the tray in front of the gear lever, I’d get a wireless charger underneath, but I don’t think there’s one there. So far, the BMW one is looking favourable.

That’s another option, but would you leave it connected all the time? The BMW adaptor does look quite pricey!

That’s my main concern really. As it happens, it appeared today. It’s a little bigger than hoped but seems pretty sticky and might well solve my problem.

Re: Wireless iPhone charging
Not the most professional of installs as I just placed it in there, but looks like it might do the trick.
Re: Wireless iPhone charging
I have wireless charging as a standard option (Mogsyman ), but I don't think my iPhone will work with that as I have a charge pack as phone cover already.
Would have been nice of course if it did work.

Re: Wireless iPhone charging
As the power switches off after around 10mins of locking the car, yes, I’m going to just leave it plugged in. It’s a little bigger than I thought it was going to be, but fits and seems to be pretty grippy. Once I’ve tidied up the cabling it should do fine.
It was an eBay special and took a while to arrive (probably from China), but here’s a link in case you are interested.
