Site Improvements / Recommendations

I know this site has only been up for a week or so but one change which should be implemented is the ability to open a link from the forum in another window. This forum opens the link over the forum making it easy to forget where you left off. Just a suggestion.

Thanks for the suggestion but the reason PHPbb (the forum software) handles links in this way is because it is designed to have XHTML strict validation. Accessible web design suggests a link always opens in the same window unless the user decides different i.e. right click and select open in new tab/window.
It's one of those issues what is always cause for debate but the writers of the software decided to adhere to the web standards, hence that's what we have implemented here.

Just hover over the link hold shift and left click the mouse then it will open up a new window.

Trust me ...me computers and talent don't go together mate

when i first joined this/other forum it used to take me half an hour to type a reply

the only reason i know that works is because someone else mentioned it on the old forum
Thats something else to thank this great forum for.......improving my typing speed and computer skills like using the resler on the x

without this forum and peeps on it i would never have attemted that way back then

Sp3ctre, does this forum allow a preview of a thread when you hover over the topic so you don't have to click the topic and wait for it to load to read what it is about?
Turks.

No, I believe that's a feature of a mod for a different forum software

Ahh ok, suppose you get pro's and con's with them all but so long as this is robust then thats all we need to worry about!
Cheers sp3ctre.

Another one can we get the text of the update in the email update notification? Easier then hitting the site each time. This way if it interests you, then you can goto the post and reply.

Please can someone advise me. If a PM is sent does it just remain in my outbox until it is read by the other person - or have i not sent it properly?
