Forum gone a bit quiet these last few days so thought I would get things rolling again. ::)
Running low on Adblue and wonder what I should buy rather than the more expensive BMW product?
Assume you just pore it neat, into the filler adjacent to the diesel cap?

I just used to buy it from Shell when getting fuel - never had any problems.

You have a filler next to the fuel cap though? My 50d had the filler under the bonnet...

Buy mine from Amazon and use the Greenchem 10L version.  No garages around me with pumps (for other than HGV) with a low enough delivery rate.  Forecourt pump prices are the cheapest if you can find one with it.

I bought a 4L bottle with a control valve on it to save any spillages.  I just decant from the large to the small container and into the tank.

Halfords.

Does the job as far as I can see and let’s be honest, wee is wee however you package it  :))

I bought a small bottle with the correct filler cap to make sure I have the right connection etc. and now buy 10ltrs at a time at £15.

Not sure how that compares to BMW?

Sorry you are right the filler is under the bonnet ::)
I was picturing my wife's MB GLC when righting my post, which is next to the diesel cap.

Adblue isn’t included in the service pack as far as I’m aware.

Buy 10ltrs and fill until it stops, your idrive will tell you how much you need in the vehicle/service details page.

Very easy to do with little mess, I fill mine up every 10000 miles or so.

I’ll need to try and locate the filler for this when I get a chance to open the bonnet, or the fuel flap for that matter!  If it’s 9-10k miles between fills though then i’ve got a while!  :)

The filler is a blue twist open cap on the left hand side of the engine.

The smaller bottle I purchased had a screw type filler that attaches to the reservoir once the blue cap is removed. In practice you don’t need to screw it into place simply align it properly. You then simply push the bottle down and it fills the tank.

It stops once full so you can’t overfill it.

This is the first I have heard of adblue.
I know this is the F15 section, is this only on the newer models or would my 2010 E71 need this?
I havnt heard or read anything about this before.

Adblue is  used to reach Euro6 diesel emissions, 2016 +. My 66 plate van has it, I t says 5000 miles range on the dash but starts to remind me when it gets to 1500 miles.
2010 is still Euro 5 emissions, so before Adblue was needed / used.

If you fill it up yourself, do you then need to go to the dealer to remove the reminder from the dash?

Nope, all automatic. But you only save the price of a coffee and a biscuit - which you get anyway at my dealer.
