I have as above and if I turn heater fan off, it stops and mostly you can turn the fan back on and no buzzing until next start. Definitely not a rotational noise. Any ideas and can anyone tell me where the fan relay is.

Hi Henry, just out of interest does the fan still actually operate at its various speeds?
If you were referring to the final stage resistor that controls the fan speed etc it’s down by your left foot behind the centre console.
Changed mine as it failed with the fan in the high speed position and killed the battery, after a bit of research I decided against cheaper fleabay versions and got it from Cotswold BMW through the forum.

The fan is working at all speeds and functions as it should. Reluctant to throw parts at it.
