Evening on 1 if you can help me in the boot on the right hand side there is a blue connector block as I'm not too sure what it is for any ideas

Power adjusted ‘rake’ for the rear seats. A cost option on the E53 that allowed those in the back to change the angle of the backrest. There will be another connector on the other side too. Extra switches were also put either side of the rear hatch so you could adjust the seat back when loading the boot.
Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.

Replacing the back seat with the right parts, assuming you can still get them. Have a look on Realoem for the parts and then I guess eBay?
