M50d Now Picked Up :-)

Apparently my M50d has now made it to Germany & awaiting a boat to the uk.  I'm bored of all this waiting around now & just want the beast to play with! >:D  I'm banking on the weekend of the 27th now for the grand handover.

Apologies for all the comments on everyone else's posts until then, it's keeping me going until I have my own one on the drive!  :P

The wait will be worth it!
I remember checking out the boat it was on and watching where it was and how long it was to go - SAD :(
If the vehicle is now in Germany going through quality assurance I would think it will be sooner than you think.

Sounds promising. Earlier would be great but will assume the worst for now.  :)

Hi

From what I have gleaned from other who bought the M50d it was worth waiting for and will put a big smile on your face  :) when you drive it.

Just to put it into perspective, in the mid-naughtiest the E53 RHD models were a ‘special order’ and only produced in batches.  Mine took 10 months to arrive (thanks to a Dealer Assist as the normal wait was 14 months)!

I’m very much hoping that’s the case!  :)

10 months!?! Wow, that’s a serious wait for a car and it would take some commitment to wait for that!

I’ve actually just found out it’s on the boat over from Germany. Still looking good for the 27th.  :)

Still guessing the 27th but popping in to discuss tomorrow.  They’ve got the M Performance parts to fit and my plate to transfer so it will take them a good few days to sort out. :D

I know more costs but why not get the car detailed before pick up?
The amount of fine scratches and swirls marks on my car was unacceptable and was pleased that I had arranged a detailer to do it at the stealers prior to pick up.
My stealer was not happy after these scratches were pointed out to them, ending up with them paying half the cost of the detailing.
However if you don't have it done, just make sure you check the car thoroughly before driving it off the forecourt ;)

Yep, I’ll be getting mine detailed once the weather picks up, as the number of swirl marks visible in direct sunlight are horrifying.

As it happens I’ve been getting some quotes in this week for getting it done. I was surprised how much it costs until I found out how much work goes into it. I reckon I will get a proper detail and ceramic coat done but it will likely be after collection now. I can’t decide what will be the hardest pill to swallow though: coughing the extra cost up for it, or being without the car for a few days!  :))

I had to do the same for my E70, after collection --> straight to detailing to fix the paint mess, costing almost £1k to do.

But Carbon black with swirls is not pretty. Still don't have swirls now though but shocking how dealers deliver the cars (or rather who they get to clean them).

Is factory collection an option?
