3.0d Manual jerky acceleration at low revs

Hi. All.
I'm experiencing a jerky hesitation during acceleration around 1500 to 2000 rpm. If I gun it its as sweet as a nut but when I'm gentle it happens.
The engine ticks over sweet and revs sweet at stand still so it's no a miss, it's more of a surge.
It's a 6spd Manual.
Help.... >:(

I had this issue... or similar.
I found the cause to be the electrical connection to the injector rail.
Different revvs & engine load possibly cause more or less vibrations to irritate the connection.
I found the culprit to be the connector for the injector loom under the engine cover at the front of the engine.
Potentially there could be other breaks in the wiring before this.
The other possibility is a dirty injector that gets fussy under minimal load, but hides the issue under lots of fueling.

Thanks X5-D-Sport Salisbury.
I don't think its a miss or injector issue. I lead towards a drive train issue like the front diff or transfer box. its like the drive is slipping as the engine note doesn't change.
Any ideas

Check you tyres - tread depth and type/brand and sizes match the label on the B pillar.
And see post #5 here:

in case it also applies. It may not, but it’s something to be aware of all the same.
