New Battery

The X6 has started to show ‘increased battery discharge’ so I’m thinking the battery’s getting weak - has anyone replaced the original battery, and if so what with?
The original one doesn’t say if it’s an AGM so I’m unsure if I need to go for an AGM or not. Also, the original is 900CCA but all the replacements on Eurocarparts are less than that - will that be a problem?
I’d be grateful for any help or advice.

First you’ll need to code the replacement battery as the E71 also has the Intelligent Battery System fitted.
People have used Bosch Silver series AGM though there seems to have a been a bad batch given the number of premature failures a couple of years back. Exide look to be a reasonable option. I expect mine to start failing soon given the car is now 7. I keep hooking a conditioner up to it as it isn’t being used much.
ECP website isn’t playing nicely at the mo, however Realoem states that the original 92Ah battery must be replaced with a 90Ah one. That may bring the CCA down a bit?

Cheers for the reply, mines around the same age. It fires up fine but seems to shut off certain options when it recognises low charge state - stuff like the lights don’t come in when I unlock the car etc.
I’ve got the Carly app & adaper so no problem with the coding.
So presumably it’s ok to replace with an AGM even if the original isn’t one?

Original should be an AGM. Mine is. I think the coding allows you to change the type and Ah rating - which simply tells the IBS what voltages and charge profile to use.

Had a look on the labelling but couldn’t find any indication that it was AGM.
Thanks for the help - will give the Exide a try.
