Tells me that the number plate lights aren't working, they are, removed lights they are very clean corrosion free, been in there a few years, no codes on scanner so can't clear. Still the same after key has been removed over night. How do I clear the OBC or what might be causing the problem. Touching battery leads together is last resort as have LPG tank fitted

Well........ you just know that the battery is always the issue on these, but have you tried checking the fuse for corrosion too? Or charging the battery with a CTEK conditioner, or similar, before venturing forth with the lpg ..... ?

This might be a long shot Henry but I had a few error messages with my back lights when I bought the car.

Although not a number plate light i was getting a tail/side light error, the actual lamp was working and in the end it turned out that although the light was illuminating when switched on - when I took the lamp out it looked like the actual filament wasn’t in the best condition, I bought a new lamp and the error went, so maybe it’s worth trying 2 new lamps as they’ll only be a few pence?

My brake light errors I cleared by soldering the tracks on the light fitting, not sure there’ll be anything like that on the number plate lights though.

sleepyfolk you may have hit the nail on the head, when I took the cover off again one row of the LEDs was out, last time I looked they were ok but perhaps were on the way out. not really noticeable by just looking at how the number plate was lit up. So I'm going with a couple of new LEDs. Probably doesn't help with all the boot slamming. They are those error free LEDs so will send for some tonight.
Smee I checked the fuses, always like to do the free stuff first, battery is in excellent health

Cool, nice when it works out as something simple!
