I currently have an E70 X5 35d which I've owned for over 3 years. It's now on 81k miles and I'm at the 'should I sell it before it starts to cost big bucks' stage. I've been looking at reviews for the F25, which I note is around the same size as the E53 X5, one of which I've previously owned.
Has anyone gone from an E70 to an F25? How do they compare? Is the 2.0 engine up to the job?
I'd quite like an F15, but don't want to spend that amount of money at the moment.
Thanks for reading......
Andy.

Re: X5 to X3

I had a 3.0d e53, I wanted a new x5 but just at this moment didn’t want to over commit, I actually went to the dealer to by a new x3, but ended up buying a used one, it’s brillint, loads of leg room and the 2.0d is plenty enough power, I can’t speak about going from a e70 but I love the car

Re: X5 to X3
I've just taken the plunge too. Our E53 X5 (Le Mans edition) has been awesome for 3/12 years and is still going strong. Chatted with the dealer about my 4 series and next week picking up a demo F25 X Line with £8k of extras on it.............. for £28k!!!!
We had a good look at the F25 and although it doesn't feel like the heavy weight the E53 is, all that slimming down will return us about 45mpg as opposed to the 28ish we currently expect. The annual road tax drop is great too, but be aware of the road tax for post April 2017 and over £40k list price.....ouch!
Happy hunting
