Change OBC settings without OEM computer?

Did a search but couldn't find a thread. Since having the Dynavin N6 system fitted to my 06 3.0d Le Mans Blue I don't seem to have any way to change the settings in the speedo/revcounter binnacle. When I got the car it had a failing screen BMW original radio/satnav/obc but that is now in the Dynavin box and the Dynavin has been fantastic.

I can change the Dynavin system clock in the settings setup but cannot find a way to change the clock "in front of me". The left stalk button cycles through all the options; range, speed warning beep (another setting I'd like to change!) and I usually have it set to the clock. Fine until today after the clocks went back but now my radio unit is correct but the dashboard isn't.

Trivial in the grand scheme I know but if I can access these features I'd love to know how please.

BTW, I do have the fault code diagnostic tool that plugs into the "start" like socket but it doesn't have the facility I need.

BTW2, If I hold the button in when the clock displays it changes to PROG, but I guess it is waiting for the press of buttons I no longer have connected?

You can actually relocate your old headunit into the Cubby hole in the boot.  I had the non satnav version ( MID )
I fitted a Dynavin headunit to mine and relocated the MID that had the buttons on it to reset the binnacle settings.
I used a 5 core flex and removed the original ( now unused plug that was in the multi information/ radio unit in the dash ) and extended the cable to wherever I put the MID.
I'm sure Henry M3 has his old headunit in the cubby ???? Sure he will be able to advise.

PITA to do, ie run blue and white connectors to the boot but allows you to use OBC. Don’t misunderstand, if you want to change things you have to do it from the boot

I re-located my MID to the rear hatch to maintain the ability to change the clock, webasto and reset consumption figures, but I rarely used it. I re-used the plug from the MID's original location, then colour and pin match the wiring at the rear using un-used plugs. I did not have CD stacker or navigation.

Did you pick up the wiring from the boot, or do you have to basically extend the wiring from the dashboard and run it back to the boot, I think I might have asked Henry before but didn’t quite grasp how it was done

Now the N7 is out I’m thinking of going for it but do want to relocate the old head unit

River never looked into or done this, so might be talking crap, but.... could you not extend the wires to glove box vs boot and then plug in the factory unit when needing to adjust something. Do the adjustment, remove the unit until next time and stash the much shorter wires in the glove box. A short extension if you will, that you plug into when needed vs permanent install?

Thank you all. That’s really helpful.

Two more questions: firstly a daft one, I had the Dynavin fitted professionally and I can’t for the life of me see how to remove it from the dash, unlike the original that had screws when the cassette bit was raised. Do I just tease it out with trim tools?

Secondly, can I expect to find the original head unit connections still lurking in the dash to extend and reconnect the bmw obc head unit?

Thank you again for your help and advice.

Yes the plug wires one blue one white will be lurking in behind the HU. As I fitted the system myself when I was laying the wires I also unlayed (if that's a proper word)the blue/white plug wires. The HU should be held in by a spring clip on each side, should pop out with trim tools. No screws holding mine in
