Post by marsie » Sun Oct 29, 2017 8:39 am

Thought i would start a thread in here with some pics. Picked it up yesterday and unto now i am very happy with it. Just sold a Discovery 4 and first impressions are-
Its faster!
Its louder
Its a lot more planted on the road
Its smaller

None of which were much of a surprise  8)

Hi

Car looks good and yes it's probably a better road car than the disco.

The wheels are a pain when the lacquer corrodes and is fairly common on them approx every two years so some have them painted rather than diamond cut. Did you manage to get the dealer to refurb them?

When doing the wheel refurb it's worth considering replacing the small M badge and the centre caps with new ones.

I think I paid about £70 all in from BMW but it just finishes off newly refurbished wheels

The mudflaps do reduce the rubbish in the car but not all of it.  Given the size of wheels they need to be ‘large’.  I have then in the X6 and they aren’t too OTT.  :)

Looks nice!! Make sure you post some pics of wheels once done, I have just bought a set of secondhand OEM front kidney grilles which I have split and intend to have the outers (chrome part) painted body colour and leave the slats satin black.

Thanks Si, i have split the grills and done the centres satin black and think it looks much better. The other job has been to remove the mudflaps

‘*’ marked tyres could be an interesting “challenge” for those.  I do like the design but the roads around me would wreck them  :(
