Hello, Looking to get back into the X5 club

Hi Guys,
We are previous owners of a 2001 4.4 sport x5. We got fed up with repair bills so sold up and went into a 5 series lease which has been nice and hassle free but now looking at the maths, an older x5 with repairs has still been cheaper to own and run.
So we are now on the look out but can’t make up our minds on another E53 or the newer model E70 etc. Looking for anyone’s thoughts on which is the better option.
let us know if anyone is selling up one of their pride and joys.
