OK if you're speeding then maybe you deserve to be caught, but this beastie now being used in Bedfordshire (and likely elsewhere too) is not playing the game! I'll not start a debate about the benefits, risks etc that fly around the topic of safety partnerships, but this to me is cheating!

Luckily I don't live there but I think it is ridiculous! You don't stand a chance. 95% of the time I drive to the speed limits, either because of traffic in front of me or just because I don't drive fast... however, sometimes my speed does creep over and I'd be livid if I was caught at that unlucky moment as i'd be branded a fast driver!
I know people that speed everywhere and get away with it, it is just luck of the draw. With these new vans, the objective isn't to stop speeding as they say... if it was they shouldn't be clocking you at a kilometer away! Its just to generate revenue!

We've had the two-way ones up here in Scotland for a long time. They take a photo of you before and after and help to establish who is driving.

Just drove past our local camera van on the a977 and it has been upgraded to 4-way. Extra camera bubble mounted on the side of the can.
