Changing the air filter on F15 X5 40d

Hi, Has anyone changed the air filter on their F15? Is it easy? I have bought a K & N filter but cant find any guidance on how to change filter on the newer model X5

The top engine covers lifts to allow access to the air filter, simply turn and lift the filter

Be inclined to return the k&N filter,
No performance gains will be merited, more likely, you will foul the Air mass flow meter and cause lumpy running. k&N filters are oiled and this is the cause of rough running, vapourised induction air picks up the oil and deposits in the intake system and sensors..

K&N fitted and an easy job and car running fine, the first stage done next the remap etc
