Telling a Pre LCI from an LCI and Range Rover Sports!?!

Ok so I am looking at an E70 X5 which was registered in July 2010, I cannot tell from looking at the pictures whether it is Pre LCI or LCI is there a finite way to check this?
Looked at a 2009 Range Rover Sport today which was an early facelift model as officially I think they changed in 2010 but this was a '59 so wondered if the same can be said for X5?
Also anyone owned a RRS and moved to X5 or know anyone that has owned an X5 and moved to RRS - the beauty of the X5 is that it is an approved used model so it comes with all the benefits of warranty, assistance etc. whereas the RRS doesn't come with any of that and has 20k more miles on the clock!

Thanks bud, thats most helpful although looks like the car I was in love with via the internet is the pre-lci car which is a shame.
Was convinced it was LCI, if I am correct there is quite significant differences not least the gearbox which obviously makes for a far smoother drive and also better MPG??

I think the first picture is an SE and the second a Sport, so the bumpers are different anyway..

LCI versions also have LED angel eyes.
Main differences are cleaner, more efficient engines meaning lower tax, better ICE systems with Bluetooth music streaming, and a larger screen iDrive with a 7-button Controller (instead of 3), larger hard drive. And the 8-sp box of course. Hard drive based navigation system also fitted (CIC drive system).

Thanks both, so in terms of the pictures posted then what are we saying as that silver one has now thrown me completely!!!
I think I am clutching at straws thinking the car I have seen is LCI, but actually the spec/miles/colour combo/price all appeal so maybe I can resign myself to a pre LCI......
I have seen an LCI for sale via Stratstone however its silver with black leather and I cannot silver cars with black leather - no offence at anyone with this combo but I like a 'colour' and if possible a contrast interior.
Hmmmmm what to do pre LCI with AUC warranty and benefits or LCI with no AUC or benefits and less than favourable colour combo!

My 35d was registered in Dec 2009, it has the 7 button controller and the hard drive nav but doesn't have the 8 speed box. Probably at the cusp of the LCI so had some benefits but not others.

I was just wondering if that might of been a possibility with it benefitting from some of the upgrades not all, will speak to Dealer this morning.
Out of interest what is tax cost for 12 months between pre LCI and LCI?

Do you know which engine version it is? 30d, 35d, 40d?
40d is Band J I think (£270). 35d is K or L. 30d could be J or K depending upon trim and seat count.
They are all 3.0 litre but the 40d is the later (LCI) version twin turbo. 35d is pre-LCI.
July 2010 ought to be an LCI, but Dealers did hold onto stock so it might not be - and hence your query.
If you can get hold of the last 7 characters of the VIN then you can get the ‘as built’ spec from bmwvin dot com.

It's a 3.0d engine wise, waiting for dealer to ring and one of my questions was regarding the VIN so if that can tell me then fab!
Quite intrigued to get spec as BMW site isn't that clear in the new layout however it would suggest it's fitted with a lot of extras!!!

Don’t you just hate PB! >:(
Certainly a CIC drive controller. Fingers crossed it is an LCI car to go with it.

Thanks bud, still waiting to hear - service has been rubbish considering it is likely to be their easiest sale ever!!!!
Here is a copy of the 'Highlights' -
