Mechatronics control unit plug

Morning folks.i bought the meyle trans servicing kit the other day,and inside was a new one of the above.am i right in saying that this fits on the back end of the transmission with twist off wiring plug thingy.mine has abit of oil around it,so im thinking this is the cause of some if not all my trans problems due to low oil and pressure.probably been leaking for years for all i know.
