Sold my car today

Yes that's right, my X5 M50d will be going next week after almost exactly 1 year of ownership.

I was called by the dealer last week and offered the opportunity for a straight swap into a pre-registered M3 Competition Pack. I signed the paperwork today.

I've enjoyed the X5 but just don't cover the miles to justify it any longer, that and the deal I was offered was truly a one-time thing.

It's been emotional guys.

Wow, a certain change in direction, but I cant fault your choice. I went from an e53 to a 2.0d MK6 Golf, then on to an E93 330i convertible, which the wife took over, and then to to an X3 !
It's good to have a complete change,I'm sure you will enjoy

Hi

Congrats on your the new M3 competition pack, certainly worth going for and enjoying the bends a bit more than an X especially if you have a good deal on it.

Remember you can also stay on the forum and enjoy it.

Enjoy. I wonder what it must be like going back into a lower down car (height-wise). I do like the elevated drive position of the SUVs. I suspect though its something you get used to pretty quickly.

It was one of the reasons I was keen to get back into the X5

Our other car is an M135i so I'm used to both - and I'm used to the M3 already.

Much as I liked the X5 high driving position, I could never get low enough in the car, which I much prefer.  Anyway, can't back out now!

Beast!! and the sound is something to enjoy, nearly got an M4, but mileage ruled it out. I have had my X5 a year now and love it

Just thought I'd share the post detailing report - not an X5 but these guys have done a few X5s from here and I can vouch for the results!

I’m sure you mentioned it somewhere, but what did they charge for the detailing job? I might get mine done.

I can't recall for sure as I've had a few done over the years, the M135i was wax only after correction (£550 I think), my 335d was a full correction after 2 1/2 years of ownership (£650) the X5 was full correction and ceramic (I want to say £800 but may have that wrong) and the M3 was single pass correction with light ceramic coating (again, I think £600, maybe a bit more).
