Flebay parking sensors

Post by Bigb » Tue Sep 19, 2017 6:24 pm

Hi there, I get the constant beep when first start the car. I have searched and found out how to see what ones work and only one of the rear sensors click when in reverse, all the front seem to be fine. Are the ones advertised for £28 for four any good? Anyone tried them without just saying they are crap? Thanks in advance Bryan

Have you tried unplugging them and giving them a spray.
Had one not clicking and that was the fix.

Hi there and thanks for the reply, I have not tried that but I'll give that a go, is this a common problem that a quick clean of the terminals fixes them? Thanks bryan

failure is a common fault,I replaced a few of mine with ones from ebay and they worked fine.

A word of caution. Yes you can get them off eBay, and yes they (might) work. But not all sellers are the same, so ti isn't accurate to say the ones off ebay work. I'd suggest the poster who said he got them off eBay posts a link to the specific seller he bought them from. That is the only way you will have peace of mind

I paid around £10 off eBay per sensor so four for £28 sounds reasonable. i cannot remember how long ago it was so i will look in my eBay history and if I can see the seller I got them from I will post the details

I took the above advice and cleaned the sensors first before ordering, I still got only one clicking, I swapped them about and it seems they all work but only from the one plug. What would this be? Thanks again bryan

Sounds like the PDC module. Check the multiplug connections .

Hi there, the link works for a second but then goes to the main forum page so don't get any time to check it out. Would a faulty module let one out of three work? Is the wiring prone to faults? Thanks Bryan

Thank you, I'll check this tomorrow, I'll do a continuity test on the loom wiring too to make sure the loom isn't at fault

Problem solved, cleaned all the connections on the module, they were visibly ok anyway.i checked the loom to the sensors under the light cluster, it was visibly water damaged, green pins. I soaked them in wd40 and let that sit for half an hour then sprayed electrical contact cleaner and gave it a blast with compressed air, a little squirt of wd40, plugged it back together and all is working again. Hope this helps someone not to just buy new sensors if they don't click, swap them about first before assuming a bad sensor. I love a free fix!!
