Hi guys, just wondered if a SE with 20's (275/40 and 315/35) had wider arches especially at the rear?.
Was thinking of puting a set of 18's (255/45) on but I think they may lol lost in the arches especially at the rear.

I thought the arches were the same regardless on the E70?  Only the E53 had the little extensions.  18" will look lost but I run 19" winter and 20" summer.  The 19" are not too bad in the X6 - which has an even wider bum  :P

Mine does. You could try adding spacers so it blends better.

Hi have you a picture ?
The Se could be fitted with the wide arch kit when new it was usually just a black plastic arch extension kit although some were body coloured like the M sport version .
what wheels are you trying to fit ? as the 18" are usually none staggered which give the car a look as though the wheels are sunk into the car .
BMW made wheels that fit the M sport with a different offset front to back from the Se version which was less agressive hence why some wheels are relatively cheaper than others as they are less likely to be bought for a cosmetic enhancement .
if you send me a pm I can send some pictures of wheels that may fit or point you in the right direction !

Hi it is a wide arch kit on an SE so M sport wheels will fit, unfortunately 18" and SE wheels will look a bit silly.
I guess that's part of the dynamic pack then, arches, 20" wheels and running boards.

Hi normal SE comes with running boards, check the spec of your car with a vin number on BMW website. I think the suspension was on the dynamic package. Why are you wanting smaller wheels?
Just fancied a softer ride and cut down on running costs. I have seen a mint set of 18's with all tyres still at 7mm and the whole set is up for less than I will be paying for just two 20" tyres.

Dynamic pack had the better looks, but that could be subjective. It had the silver chrome fittings to the front and rear bumpers, chrome roof racks, silver grilles and sidesteps as well. Most often had the 20" wheels fitted. Also had the wheel arch extensions at the back. Standard SE did not have the wheel arch extensions, but it may have been an option, so it's best to do a spec check. The Dynamic Pack also came with full electric sport seats in the front as well, which was nice, but also the M-sport suspension. You could 'calm' the suspension with air suspension on the rear or even dynamic drive, but M-sport suspension on 20" is definitely OK, isn't so bone shattering as many say.
