Post by Zedhed » Thu Sep 07, 2017 3:59 pm

Another little niggle now.sounds like a small fan is slowly running when ignition is off.sounds like its coming from climate control panel.is this normal.

If it is the tiny fan in the climate panel I'm not sure what causes that to run when the ignition is off, if it's actually the main blower that is still blowing on low speed when your ignition is off it's likely to be the final stage resistor (or hedgehog) as its affectionately known, when it goes rogue the main fan does what it likes even with the key out and kills your battery!

Changed mine recently, £70ish from BMW I think, cheaper eBay versions are available but I read about a few cheapies going duff very quickly so went original.

It's behind the panel by your left ankle

I was actually pleased mine went when it did as I had just bought a new Bosch battery which I was about to fit, I guess if you're going away all you can do is take the trim piece off and unplug it
