'Judder' between 1500-2200 revs - any ideas?

I have a 50d with 22k miles (1 year old) which has developed a strange judder at 1500-2200 revs.

Seems to happen in any gear and any speed with revs being the only constant. I describe it as a 'judder' as I can't describe any better!

As the engine is pulling it almost feels like the car is hitting some kind of limiter; like a pulsing from the engine/gearbox which clears as the revs build. It's a bit concerning since I understand this to be the second turbo range but booked in to service in a couple of weeks to check out.

Anyone experienced similar?

Did this get sorted out at the dealers..??

I had something similar, a seeming missfire/hesitation [40d] , it turned out to be the transfer box failing, Was fixed under warranty...

I traded the car in for an M3  :))

...but you are correct, the senior tech diagnosed the fault to be the transfer box.

They didn't replace it in the end - just balanced the wheels and said it was fine  ::)  It wasn't, but their problem now  :P
