First on my list of tasteful mods is to change the front grill to all black (with my x5 being carbon black)

Having a look online there seems to be two styles of grill out there - i have added a link below since i can't get the pics to upload.

I am undecided on which style to go with but i am being swayed by the grill with the lip. Also, given my car is Carbon black i am thinking that a Matt black grill will look better...your opinions are welcome.

1. like for like replacement, same style - im sure you all know what this looks like.

2. grill with what i can only describe as a lip on the top

To be honest!
I changed initially to the gloss black, then remained undecided, removed and returned to std, in doing so I broke a tab of the gloss blacks, so I bought the Matt twin fin.
Needless to say I am returned to the std 4.0d graphite units

The lip design looks 5hit and should be kept for the 6 series......
