Front Passenger Wiper (E53 X5 Bosch Super Plus)

Hello all,

Just replacing the front wipers on the truck and seem to have a problem. I'm using Bosch Super Plus as I don't think the Aero versions look quite right on the E53 (I know I know sorry). Listed as 24" for drivers and 22" for passenger side. Passenger looks to be the right size however the end nearest the end of the windscreen looks as though it doesn't have enough tension to sit flush on the screen. I popped into the dreaded Halfrauds to check and their 22" Bosch's also have the same issue so I'm wondering if I have an issue with my arm? Anyone had a similar problem?

Many thanks
Dave J

Mine where the same and it got to me lol.
I changed to a 20" and looks a lot better.
They where listed somewhere as 24" and 20" as a set.

Hence the reason I changed to the Bosch Aeroflex. Tried different brands and had your issue plus the offside wiper always seemed not to clear the screen correctly. Even changed the wiper arm and didn't fix this.

Maybe slightly off topic, but I recently changed my standard wipers for Bosch aero wipers on my X3.
(The original wipers were noisy  on the drivers side)
when I fitted the aero wipers It made matters worse, and they were leaving a smudge mark right in my line of vision.
Upon further examination I noted the blade wasn't sitting at 90 degrees to the glass. It looks like the wiper arm was twisted slightly, and the flat metal part of the arm wasn't parallel to the screen.
I used two large adjustable spanners, one to hold the arm at the base the other nearer the wiperblade and with considerable force managed to twist the arm back to parallel.
Now the arm pushes the blade at 90 degrees to the screen and doesn't fold it over onto the backing rubber and all is well.

Well I went old skool and just bent the arm to accept the wiper. Looking closer at the arm before bending it did look as though someone had bent it previously. I can only assume that was to ensure the aero wiper (horrid things sorry) made good contact.
