MID unit

Hi all, this may seem a simple thing but it driving me nuts. After changing the battery and resetting time ,date, etc. it will not change to uk language and keeps running home to German ,you see the list of options change to English then a second later back to German. Anyone got any suggestions and yes I've disconnected the battery and left it for half an hour still the same.
