Hello

I have just bought my first Bmw x5 3.0d 7 seater.
Very happy with it when I bought it but not having much luck with it now.
There is something draining my battery at a very strong rate.
The car has a lot of incar entertainment for the kids.

Some help would be great as I am new to the x5 and is in the garage trying to fix the problem.

When I bought the car I noticed the heater fans were not very strong at full power. Parked the car up for 3 hours to find out the battery was very week. I got a jump start that evening and drove car for 30 mile and parked it up for the night. The next morning the car started perfect with no issues and heater fans worked perfectly at full power.

Later on that day the battery was flat again.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Maybe the a accessories are preventing the car going to sleep.
Lock the car and look in the window, you will see the gear stick lit up as usual.
Go back to the car 20 minuites later and see if the gearstick light has gone out. If it hasn't the car hasn't gone into sleep mode.
Also check the battery, if it's a BMW battery look on the terminal posts and it will have a date stamped on the top. Year and week.
If it's the original battery, it may be on its way out. You havnt given us much info on the cars age and variant.
It's best to include this in your signature as some of us do. This way you don't have to keep putting it in every post.

It's a 2007 x5 3.0d We ff42. With 150000 miles.

If it's the original battery, that's the first thing I'd change. I've got a 2007 E93 3 series and that's on its original battery and will definitely be getting changed before winter and it on 68k miles. Yours will be an AGM battery too and they don't like getting flat.  They have co e down in price recently and are available for around £120/130
Please note, the new battery needs to be registered to the car, the Carley app or some other diognostic devices will do this or an indie/ dealer visit.
