I buy all my parts from Germany and get them in 72 hours i can live with that.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Coked up 2.0 d engines are not uncommon in the X3, read loads of posts on BMW Land when it was on line, same with them eating turbos 2, wonder if it's the mapping ?
As for rear springs, that's been an ongoing thing since the E46's, I believe the aftermarket ones are better than OEM.
I've had my E83 3.0d a few months now and am quite impressed with it now I've got on top of the planned maintenance. I find it a very usable/ easy to live with, sort of car. Good internal space compared to a 3/5 series touring, good driving position, but not overly sized that it's a problem to park or squeeze through gaps.
It's more nimble on its feet than my E53 was as it's probably 1/4 tonne lighter.
Better on fuel than the E53.
