Guys, has anyone had their 3.0i's remapped? what type of mapping did you go for &  what were your views?

Didn't think a remap on a non-turbo petrol engine ever made a lot of difference?    I had a 4.3 Merc where the remap added only about 8hp (and removed the speed limiter).  Much more difference on turbocharged lumps.

Might be completely wrong on that though!

I have an early 3.0 e83. 231bhp I think. I've not had it done, but looked around and most claim gains of approx 15bhp, that and maybe a good air filter would get 250bhp if you was very lucky, but nothing that I'd think you would notice all that much.... Depending on its age, you probably have lost a few bhp over the years a good service and check over would probably do you some good if not already done.

When I had my E60 530i I looked into getting it done,  I called in at a remappers in Blackburn and he said don't waste your money.
He said the Diesel was worth doing but the normally aspirated petrols had no real gains.
