Hi all,
I know this topic has probably has been talk about before.
I have found a website that sell land rover & range rover replacement heating element, I was wondering if since bmw did own ranger rover once upon a time, If the elements would fit a bmw x5 2003 model. Would they be the correct size I know I might have to cut the wires to get it to fit to the car.
The link is

Any feedback would be welcome, Thanks

What is wrong with the one you've got. I ask as my passenger one didn't work, had a code which indicated open circuit. found one of the plugs disconnected under the seat. You've probably checked that but just a thought.

Drivers seat doesn't work or only works when the outside temp is cold, When the outside temp is close to 0, The seat will turn on for a short time & will start to warm up, Then it will go off & wont come back on. To me I think its the thermostat reading that the seat hotter than it is. Because its warmer weather now it wont come on what so ever.

I suppose there must be some sort of temperature control (resistor/thermostat)as you can set your seat at different heat levels. However the light at the switch or lights, depending on heat level, should stay on until switched off. You have checked fuse??

All fuses are fine, What I forgot to say before was when its cold enough for it to work, The seat will start to warm up, Then turn its self off, When I try & turn it back on, It will go off again within 10 seconds, Then after a few times of turning it on again, Then the lights will flash then go off.

Sounds a bit wrong that. They should have three 'heat settings' and will come on at any temperature and stay powered on until either turned down or off.
They are known to fail though either by shutting down (as you have) or not and then burning the seat! The flashing LED is the 'system fault' warning.
Have a look at Realoem and see if the repair kits are still available.
