Hi all,

New E53 Silver 3.0d Sport owner (December) from NE Scotland, been looking through the forum for inspiration, doing homework, taking notes, justifying splashing money on a 7 year old BM, Had a couple of BMW's in the past, 94' 318i sport, 98' 323i sport, but more recently a Lexus IS200 Sport. I also own a 1993 Mitsi Pajero SWB for dragging trailors & dogs around in.

The X5 has Sat Nav & analogue TV that i would like to upgrade, DVD & rear headrests with the wireless headphones, which are ace, but remote control for dvd has a mind of it's own.

I have plans, Deffinatley new wheels, just not too sure yet which ones yet & fit a Removable towbar.

I know how these forums work, you all know i'm going to want to fit to mine what everyone has done to theirs
 & i've allready found the performance section.

Just ordered loads of cleaning gear since the weather seems to have broken, will get to work when i get home in a weeks time, the running boards is the first thing & yes i know about taking the gromets out to make life easier, found that post too

Will upload pics once cleaned, (everyone loves pics)
Deckie.

Hi deckie77 and welcome

Of course you can justify spending on an X, whatever the age.
Running boards - Hmmm - will it be wonder wheels or elbow grease?

Enjoy the forum and enjoy your car :driving:

Welcome aboard.................Not best weather for detailing a car at moment but I have prior learned its best to keep on top of boards in winter washing same regularly & so as to avloid many hours later to remove unwanted marks...........Re my boards I'm an autosol and toothbrush man followed by wash & dry then a wipe of WD40- such joy seeing pasengers slip off the boards & serves them right for stepping on them excessively.

So WD-40 is used as a polish / sealant, now i'll get oily marks on the back of my jeans instead of dirty marks, pitfall of being short on the ar$e!!!
