Hi can anyone give me any advice. I have a diesel x3 and it was smoking, took it in and they done 1 injector and was told the other injectors may need replacing. Day 2 and its already smoking on idle but even worse big plumes of smoke.  They did give me a full mot when the first injector seal was replaced. Would it be the injectors as the smoke only comes when sitting in traffic not sure whether to get it fixed or sell the car as is as they said it will cost £18.00 for each injector and £300.00 labour for each injector.  would be grateful for any advice thanks.

Valve stem seals?  Blocked EGR Valve?  Blocked crankcase breather?  Turbo seals?

It will be worth taking it somewhere that can read the BMW error logs correctly (rather than generically) to see what shows up.

£18 for an injector and £300 labour seems Odd.  That might be the wrong way round as the injectors are £300 each.

BMW will charge you about £100 to read the fault codes out.  Expensive, but it should point you in the right direction and determine which (if any) injector is faulty.  It may show they are fine and it's a different issue (good or bad).
