X5 e53 display unit
X5 e53 display unit
Hi all I'm new to this and after some advice regarding the display unit in my X5 e53 54 reg. the problem is the screen goes white for long periods and then comes back on briefly it also has bit of pigmentation as well.. I've had a quote of £185 to get replacement screen and was wondering if that's a fair price or is it much of a job and expense to upgrade the whole unit, any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks
Re: X5 e53 display unit
There is a ribbon cable that runs. Between the screen and the unit.
Use the search button and type in ribbon cable, there has been a few How to do's over the years.
It maybe a matter of cleaning the contacts, or just re seating the cable

+1 for checking the ribbon cable.
Make sure you wear a static strap to 'bond' you to the vehicle. Some microelectronics are static sensitive so better to be safe than 'blown'

Hi! I was wondering if fixing the cable solved the problem? I have the same issue and would like to fix it
