F15 Used prices

Hi Guys,

It looks like I'm going to be selling my F15 X5 in the near future due to work relocation and have been studying used prices to work out how much to put it up for. There's quite a lot of differences on whats available on the used market from private, trade and BMW directly on different model variations with different Specs. This may sound like a naive question, but how much does spec effect the re-sell price?

Here's the run-down on my car:

2014, BMW X5 Drive25d M Sport
31k on the clock, full service history by BMW
Carbon Black with Ivory leather interior
20 m double spoke wheels
Reversing assist camera
American oak interior
Panoramic glass roof
Electric front seats
Front seats heated

The car was nearly £55k brand new with all the extras, and I brought it just over 12 months ago.

Could anyone help me out with a realistic valuation?

Thanks

Get an idea from webuyanycar or similar sites, and autotrader, also pistonheads and latest parkers guide.......
May also be worth calling a BMW dealer or checking the AUC site for prices.  Expect a fair amount less for a private sale though, F15s are still pricey used, late E70s have only just gone under the £30k mark.  Webuyanycar may even give you a decent price as F15s are pretty high demand even with the diesel uncertainty.

Only problem with selling such an expensive car privately is that the market is a bit restricted - people wanting to outlay so much on a used car are likely to want a main dealer approved one, I know I would never consider spending that sort of money on a private sale.

P6NDP when I bought my last 30d msport new on a Pcp in 2015 the min guaranteed future value at 3 years old was £33k, mine had a similar spec to yours but was the x drive 30, seeing these are selling at dealers for around £36k - £38k I would assume the dealers would pay around £33-£35k for them as trade ins so if you are selling private & yours is a 2 wheel drive I would think you will be looking at a fair bit less, as everyone states cars at this level are hard to sell private as most buyers want finance & warranties.

Maybe worth looking locally for a independent prestige dealer & asking them to give you an offer on yours to buy it from you for their stock?

Good luck anyway!

I had a call with a very helpful guy from Saxton 4X4 on Friday and am going to keep researching.
Cheers

Go online and do an insurance quote. A lot of them use algo's to fill in the " market value " part of the form . I suspect its quite a good base line. I used money supermarket and compare the meerkat etc etc.
They all came up with the same figure.
I have a 2013 40d SE individual with lots of extras ( and i do believe they make a difference to the used prices ). Mine was £67k new. Recent insurance quote said market value £38 k.
May not be 100% accurate but that's what they would pay out I guess so must be there or there abouts.

For sure its a good starting point.

Wow!  My 6 year old X6 is worth as much as my 18-month old Škoda (OK it was only 2/3 the price, but.....) according to them  :D

Just valued mine for a laugh (9 months old 50d) - £56k.

If someone wants to pay me that I'll happily buy a new car tomorrow - I only paid £61k!
