I have around £9k to spend. I love the M sport bits/wheels, but i'm open to anything that has been looked after without loads of owners.

Hope you find a decent one at a tight budget - you are likely to be looking for an early, pre-LCI model - there are some decent spec ones around, but the VED is very high, around £500 a year.  Low mileage does not always automatically mean the car is better, btw.  High mileage spent cruising motorways is a lot better than low mileage school-run chelsea tractor ..........

In my experience 9k will buy you a crap E70 or a brilliant E53 the E53 still does it it for me .

Its in the lower road tax band aswell...
And its had most of the usual issues fixed, ie swirl flaps, thermostats, rear air suspension, front lower track control arms, etc etc...Its all in the advert..
