Just bought 04  plate 3.0d the spedo language is German I think and 1 other when I scroll threw them by the right but on any idears

Er what?  The speedo doesn't have a language!

Buy a genuine BMW satnav disc from ebay

It's got a after market tv screen in it that takes a gps micro sd card but has got 1 fitted in it ?

Ahhhhh, just mentioned the language thing as it's a common problem with counterfeit sat nav discs.
What make is the aftermarket headunit
I had a dynavin in mine.
Could be an idea to unplug the headunit and see if it reverts back to English.
They have been known to revert to French when using non OEM discs.
I'm guessing when you say speedo you are referring to the check control in the speedo binnacle

Not sure of make will have to pop it out and have a look ,so if I get a gps card for this will that give me English on spedo

Just pop the SD card out and try that first, never heard of an aftermarket headunit causing the language to change.
Look into hidden menu menus on the internet for the X5, maybe it's just reset the car to a default German setting , maybe if the battery has gone flat.

What is a "spedo"?    Do you mean "speedo"?  Where is the "language" appearing? 

German swimming trunks?

The language apears in the speedo as in washer level comes up in German, h average scrolled through the the language  setting and there is only 2 languages
