5 year service pack

For information, BMW no longer offer a 5 year service package for the X5, it is now a 3 year pack and does not include your brake fluid change.

With the withdrawal of the free 7 day drive away insurance last year, surely BMW are missing a trick, before they had a chance to quote on ever new BMW sold, and with the 5 year service pack they kept customers for that length of time, now people are free to find an alternative/indi for future service. I thought the world was all about customer retention now?

Why would you want a service pack that lasts longer than the official 'service life'?  BMW want you to throw the car away after 3-years..... >:D

Exactly.....with more people buying on PCP for 3 years or leasing for 2 or 3 years, they've simply tailored the service pack for what the majority of their customers want. There are too few of us who buy a car with the intention of keeping it more than 3 years let alone more than 5.

When I bought my previous 135i in 2011, the service pack was 5yr/100km which was about 62.5k miles....and it was 300 squids, which was a bloody bargain, and from my calculations saved me over a grand in service costs over the 5 years.

I didn't even bother with the new 3 yr service pack last week when I took delivery of the X5, 399 quid for what would effectively be one service anyway seemed pointless.

The last 'all inclusive' five year pack I bought from BMW was for my E53 and it was £1,200 in 2005.  Didn't save me anything as I ended up working from home and the car had only done 55,000 after 7 years!

It's never been 5 years for me. It was 5 years or 60k miles (changed to 50k?) and I did that in 2 years!

Not sure what by 50D has TBH  :(
