Halogen to Xenon

Post by Dans6490 » Sun Mar 26, 2017 6:35 pm

I have halogen lights in my 2005 x3 at the moment but some used xenon lights with angel eyes can up on eBay today. The lady selling them said they'd been in her garage since her car was written off and wanted rid. I offered £30 and she accepted!!!

I'm wondering if anyone knows how I can retrofit these lights?? Any help or pointers would be awesome.

Don't think its a straight forward job, I'm sure you will need to have the wiring loom complete with the xenon ballast/drivers.  Xenon'salso have auto level adjust and the sensor/switch is attached to the front suspension lower arm

Jagr has just done this on his X3, he had a few teething problems but sorted it in the end.
Sure he will be able to advise ou on the installation

The wiring loom is unavailable from anywhere in the world, I know as had 12 worldwide dealers with my money as they all said they could get it but after 3 months they had all refunded me with an apology that they could not get it.

In the end I gave up and configured my own.

It is a pain but worthwhile and will help if possible.

**I think I found the lights you bought but don't think they look like X3 units**

Mmmm, on second look, they do look suspiciously not like x3 units. I'm hoping it's the camera angle (praying). They must be worth more than £30 so worst case scenario I'll sell them on.
