Any useful Carly coding ?

Post by snrbrtsn » Fri Mar 24, 2017 10:48 pm

Just got the Carly adaptor......
To be honest it's pretty useless out the pack and ones tied into upgrading to the pro version, which I did...

Primary function was to monitor coolant temps as my driving habits will kill the emmission system, so now I can monitor the trends and take out for dpf blasts as and when required, (though the recorded soot & ash values are beyond me, what should they be ?)
it's also going to prove useful for battery trends as car sits for three weeks at a time.

Had a brief look on the coding (as much as child would allow) coded the dash lights on all the time, which is useful as the E70 interior is dark when used to the black panel panel display and some other random bits.

Had a look through fault codes, three codes relating to pano roof, which I'm hoping relates to the time the towbar was fitted, battery disconnected and roof wouldn't close from tilt as required reintialised.... after this roof has been faultless and used often.

Though was wondering if anyone has delved deeper and found some good bits...
I already had the boot opening from the fob, though hope to get the close from fob, function also ???

I managed to code the boot opening and closing from the fob quite easily with the Carly - is yours only working to open it?    Also did the mirrors fold from fob - some of these were two part codings, you had to go into different screens to set them correctly.

I did
Boot close from fob
Boot close from dash button
Mirrors fold on lock/unfold on open
Digital speed in dash
Tail lights off with DRL
DRL intensity very high
Camera warning off
I coded for indicators in HUD but it doesn't work.
I activated the DPF option so I could monitor the the soot volume.
Scanned for errors a few times, different ones occur, but none have reappeared after clearing.

I've yet to try & code the remote boot closing, it currently works off the fob to open
The mirrors already fold from fob, though believe these can be coded to unfold on unlock as opposed to once driving

I'll be looking at the digital speedo
I'll have to look up what the dpf soon levels mean to make use of the value

For some reason I thought I had enhanced Bluetooth, though cindecoder suggests otherwise, I'm going to try and see if the coms box offers any Bluetooth streaming function, I thought & most possibly incorrect, that Bluetooth streaming was part of the individual audio package, there's a menu for it, just no function (as yet!)

As I understand it the soot level will go to around 32g before the car requests a regen.
Mine got to 43 then I did a run down to Surrey on Wednesday, when I got there it must have done a regen as it was at 29. I checked it when I got back from Surrey, having had a traffic free motorway run back and it was 9  :)

How do you get the boot to close from fob?
I coded it but no joy... it opens no problem just not closing (yet)

I just coded it, but made sure the panic alarm function of the fob is coded off.
Also, it only goes down while the button is pressed.

Got it working now thanks
Double tap the fob to get the function
Works off the dash switch as well allbeit press once to open press once to close

Played a bit more and got all sorts of things including the digital speedometer, mirror fold on lock, dash lights on all the time, chirp when locked, brighter cornering lights, flash with fog lights and changed the daytime driving lights,
Quircky but not essential
I also tried having the doors lock with ignition key in, though that lasted all of the 3 seconds so reverted back

The dongle is on Amazon.
Even if you try to order from the Carly site, it points you to Amazon.
The app is in the Apple App Store, or Google Play.
If you're near Nottingham I can show you it working before you purchase.
