HELP PLS

Hi guys and please bear my ignorance, I'm buying a second hand BMW X5 E70 and just realized from one photo of the vehicle engine that there is a metallic hose on the left side of the engine that is missing
I attach a photo showing the obvious hose (left top side of the pic) close to the rolling bar that appears coming out of a connector, thick straight then going down in the engine close the air intake hose....anyone can tell me what that is and is it normal it's missing from the car I'm buying !?

Hi

I am not sure which part you are referring to on the left, but if you meant the rectangular metal block with two plastics caps that is attached to the left (offside) front suspension mount then this is to do with the air con cooling system.

Please see link below and according to diagram there appears to be only two metal pipes that connect to that block it for European models, if you mean there are another two threads on the metal block i don't know but an educated guess would be they are to do with the bleeding of the system.

I am sure X5Sport or one of the others will able to confirm this
