I keep seeing X5's/X3 with black grills and really quite like them so ordered a pair.

Your comparing 7 slat against 9 trivial though does make a difference apart from the colour change!

I prefer the black

That's one of my jobs to do, swap the silver for black grill.  Although I do have a black car.

I plastikoted mine black, so if I didn't like them could easily go back. Absolutely love the halos also, I opened up my z4 lights to fit halos but haven't got round to it on the x3 yet. Iirc, the x3 lights are easily opened by putting them in the oven??

Yours looks better than mine because you have the standard grill with 7 slats, mine have 9 and just think it looks wrong.

I can't answer that as I retrofitted genuine xenon headlights.
