DICE Removal

hi everyone
apologies if this is covered somewhere, I just can't see the specifics for my case.

i've got a 55 plate E53 X5, 3.0D sport. It's got the comms pack and I believe DSP, although DSP on the computer/radio is grey'd out and I can't select it, so does that mean it has no DSP? anyhow ....

since I had the car it's had a DICE electronics interface for iPod installed (previous people had installed) and so I've never had the CD changer working. I've managed with the car, listening to radio mainly and now want to remove the DICE thing and get my CD changer working again. So, I looked in the boot today and need some advise. I've taken a couple of pictures and wondered if anyone can confirm that the cables in the pic are the ones likely to be going to the DICE unit, which incidentially is located under the centre console between driver/passenger front seats.  The one I've circled in red does fit the changer and provides power, but the other plug does not physically fit in to the changer, so I'm not convinced I have the correct 'pair' to be using back in the changer and these may be for other 'things'.

my becker amp is not in the car at the moment as it's out for repair which is not really helping me identify these things but does anyone know what these could be and I'm on the correct path here or way out with my thinking?

thanks

Do you also have an Intravee unit tucked away nearby? If an Intravee is fitted, and DSP is present, then a DICE unit is required as well. One connector from the CD changer goes to the DICE, but the second one goes to the Intravee.

hi
i can't find evidence of an Intravee unit so doesn't look like it. what does one of those do for you over having just the DICE?

how about the cables? i'm trying to piece together what the car looked like before the DICE was fit and go back to my changer, so what would you check for to see what was plugged into the cd changer originally?

thanks

right ... i do have DSP. my amp arrived back today and all working

so based on that then can someone tell me where the coax (DSP) cable comes from that connects to the changer? looks like i need to buy one but i need to know what connects to the changer. any pictures would be helpful.

there's a DSP connector on top of a black box with the massive connector with loads
of cables running out of it. perhaps it connects to that?
thanks
