Did you get an email to alert you and what models does it effect?

No email, it was just when I rang up for a service they told me.
They said X3 F25, didn't mention year

It's an official, DVSA Recorded 'recall' not a safety enhancement.  Affects F25 & F26 within the chassis number ranges in the link below.

Details here:

http://www.dft.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recalls ... =Blank&tx=

ISOFIX brackets can break off the chassis due to heat and vibration!  Looks like bad welding work at build.  New metal plate to be welded over all four ISOFIX brackets to reinforce them.

Hey thanks for that will investigate tomorrow. Both our car seats are connected via isofix so hope it isn't one of ours!

45154 vehicles affected from 2010 to 2016 so the likelihood is in the higher side, and the DVSA link has all the affected VIN range for both models.

Mine had the extra welding done. Kept the car for 1.5 days at service time in December 2016.
They also gave me a printout to prove the recall had been fixed.

Mine was done last year. Took about 2 days and read that fault more likely in Europe where isofix seats more likely to have unhinged fixings i.e. If an adult puts weight on the seat, the brackets can break off. Just ensure the seat base doesn't get damaged when taken out. Perhaps photograph it beforehand.
