Thanks

The wiring should all be in the boot area at the l/hand side at the bottom of the cubby hole.

So all the cables should already be there I just have to add the module right?

Mines plugged straight in,then you need to pair the phone via the pair button.

Hello and welcome Jason32 . I think you probably have a module in the boot  , did you read the post from Sanj  its the very top ( General X5 Forum E53 )
E53 Bluetooth Connectivity , it should tell you all you need to know ,

the E53's bluetooth is old tech and wont connect to newer phones  my old phone was IPhone 4 and with a lot of bother got it paired    IPhone 6 not a chance

There's plenty of reading on this subject over the years  so have a search about

I beg to differ...
I paired my iPhone6S to the Gen1 ULF Bluetooth module..
didn't have any problems with it.

Look in the boot on the right hand side.  (EDIT -- ITS ACTUALLY THE LEFT!!! sorry)
Lift the floor.
If you have it you will see it sat at an angle sticking up through the plastic floor moulding attached to the CD/Nav carrier plate

If the wiring is there it won't be under the floor it is in the cubby hole to the left as you look in the boot area where the cd changer would be and nav computer hides if you have them.

Sorry if I missed it in your posts, but has the car got factory sat nav, or is it a single slot CD player with the multi information display unit in the dash?

No sat nav so its just a single cd slot and multi information display. It does have the phone buttons and on the wheel too.

I'd say you would need Bluetooth Module, Bluetooth Antenna, Antenna Bracket and Microphone. Like in this listing from eBay Australia. I don't know if any coding is required to enable it.

That looks like an expensive add on...so I think I'll just leave it then
