I am thinking of selling my X5 4.8is Le Mans Blue 2004,67000mls,full bmw history.
Due to the current climate what do you think would be a fair asking price???

Re: Thinking of selling, but how much is it worth???
Hi, i paid 20k for mine last sept from a bmw dealer,it is a nov 2004 & had 37k on the clock which i know was pricey.
There is one with 42k on the clock on the bmw website for 16k!! dont you just love depreciation!!
You can pick them up on auto trader for about 14k so i hope this gives you an idea.
I must admit fuel costs are interesting & i feel diesel is the way of the future even though i have two v8s!!!
Yours is the same colour as mine as well..What would you swap it for?
HTH

Re: Thinking of selling, but how much is it worth???
Guy in Box loves chav wagons, bought mine off him, he's got a 2004 4.4 £13k. I got offered £7k saturday for my 4.6, not from this garage though.
Glasses reckons mines worth £9k

With the 4.8is, it all comes down to what options the car has and the mileage, and prices can vary a lot around these issues - also buying as a BMW AUC instead of privately or via a garage that offers one of these 3-6 month mickey mouse "insurance policies". The wheels and tyres with the car can also make a much bigger difference, than with the other models, due to the high costs of the 20" tyres and original alloys. Fully tricked out 4.8s, which are BMW AUCs and have a low mileage, still carry a bit of a premium. Although the 4.8 had a lot of "extras" as standard fit, there are also difficult to find options, and to find most of them on one car, makes that particular car much more desirable. V8s of any marque / model are increasingly becoming enthusiast / specialist cars as the average driver doesn't want the problem or the expense of a V8 any more. I've seen prices vary by as much as £10K for the same year/model, depending on condition, options and mileage, and of course, provenance.......BMW dealer cars are always more expensive.
Dealer I spoke to in December said depreciation on the V8s was around £200- £300 per month at that time, but of course its variable..... never going to be good news, really.......
Depreciation on my Audi S8......First Owner paid £70K in 2001. I bought it at its first MOT in 2004 for £25K. Despite being spotless (aluminium body so no rust) in and out.....its now worth about £6K!!!!! - that's a depreciation of around £2700 a year in the 7 years since I bought it, around £240 a month
My old now ex-Range Rover was similar - new price in 1999 was £60K to first owner, I bought it for £17K in 2004, sold it December 2010 for £4600, ie £12400 depreciation in 6 years or £2050 per year; around £175 per month All very sad really, but that's depreciation and big engines .
It hits smaller cars too, although the impact is of course a bit less.
