Little irritations with my X6 - thinking of coding with Carly

Me again
Having had my X6 for a couple of months now, there's a couple of minor irritations which I know I can correct with coding, so I'm thinking of going down the Carly route.
Here goes -
1) Having to hold the lock button in on the remote to get the mirrors to fold - why doesn't it just fold them in when a simple short press, like most other cars do? I personally find this really useful just to see that the car is locked.
2) Having to activate high beam assist every time I get in the car - why doesn't this just stay on, again like my other cars have in the past?
3) Same goes for the auto-wipers although I'm not sure this can be coded.
I see there's lots of other clever things you can code with Carly, but the above are things which actually irritate me a bit.
I'd be interested to hear of anyone else's niggles that could be sorted out in this way?
Cheers,
MarkP

Am planning to code it all up myself as well...
Annoying issues so far:
disable auto start/stop
I bought a obd-to-rj45 cable off ebay, and the software was available on the internet.
I was able to read all my vehicle details, but so far haven't actually written any back.... should be fairly simple from the guide I have...
Yes, that one as well! I think with Carly as well as being able to disable it, there's an option to remember the last setting, which I think would be good to code.
- I'm sure there are a few ways to crack this nut, but I think I will go for the tried and tested integrated Carly option. More money I guess, but I don't want to brick anything

I went the Carly route and managed to achieve nearly all I wanted myself rather than paying someone else.
The comfort mirror function I set to 0 seconds so they fold as soon as I press the lock button.
Close tailgate from fob is useful, but I couldn't get close from footwell button to work (not a deal breaker)
DRL's I switched off the rear lights and brightened up the angel eyes.
The last one I tried was set the HUD to show indicators, but it doesn't seem to work.
What I'd like, and will request from the Carly team.
Auto hold - Remember the setting so I don't have to keep clearing the iDrive message about taking the handbrake off when setting off. I keep forgetting to switch auto-hold on.
Auto wipers - Remember that I'd switched them on.
Not much else really at the moment.

Rear DRLs can be done in the iDrive. I have the option for front or rear on/off on mine.
I think there is a safety lock on the rear hatch Close from inside. Others have found the same and it was (at the time) alleged to be some German Health & Safety requirement. I have the same on my Škoda - VAG electronics. Works from the key but not the button inside, and has a warning beep from the inside button but again not the fob.

Thinking of getting a Carly but I'm a bit nervous I might feck me car up!
I have been researching today and can't see if I can have indicators in the HUD for example?

I only have the choice of DRLs on or off, no option of front/rear.
I'll investigate the switch on the tailgate later. From the fob the hatch will only close while I'm pressing the button, and stops as soon as I let go, which if I'm carrying a long load could be useful I suppose

After leaving the car to "have a think" it decided that what I had programmed was correct.
Tailgate from dash button works, and tailgate close from fob is now one-touch.

Here's the link Carly gives after purchase
Clicking on your model should give the possibilities
http://support.mycarly.com/knowledge-ba ... -possible/
I managed to code my tailgate to open / close from fob and dash
But then again I also managed to code all manner of sounds when car is first started, bongs and bings like a Christmas carol....
) work in progress

I've studied that in great detail.
However, indicators in HUD still won't work. I've opened a ticket with Carly about it, but there are numerous threads around the net saying that for the X5/X6 it doesn't work however coded.

If you order off their site it directs you to Amazon.
Easier to just search for Carly on Amazon yourself.
If you've got Prime, you could be coding tomorrow.
