The shutter isn't opening on the driver's side for my full beam
Passenger side is fine... Swapped the build in case but fault stayed.
It's bi-xenon with adaptive lighting.. any ideas or am I looking at a new headlight?

New light unit unfortunately unless you can find an issue with the electrics to it.
BMW will want serious money for one!! Friend of mine just had one changed on his A6 after the HID bulb exploded, and it was £700

£995+vat
I had just taken out the exhorbetant BMW comprehensive warranty luckily so only 3 weeks to wait...
Warranty cost about the same as the headlight replacement.
Just wish I'd done it 6 months ago before my idrive died and blew my amp... And my wheel bearing exploded...
My wife seems to think this car is cheaper to run than my 911...
Leaving aside the X5 is heavier on diesel than the 911 was on petrol.

It's a catch 22...
Involving hiding invoices... Her answer is we don't need 2 cars...
It doesn't help that she still remembers the invoice for €13.5k for a subsidised replacement engine in the 911 back in 2008...

So convenient when they remember that but strangely forget about their purchases >:(

£995+vat is obscene, absolutely obscene! Probably less than £25 to make.

Headlight being replaced under warranty.
Seems it's a full day job as the bumper, grille and wing has to come off - to change a light unit !! Wtf !

It's to stop DIY mechanics! Designed to build, not repair. Anything more than three years old is end of life in BMW speak!

Got it back today all fixed...
1600 euro Inc vat for the lamp and 5 hours labour...
Just had to pay the excess of 335 euro thankfully
