Folding mirrors

Use them all the time when parking.
Tonight folded then in to park.
Pressed button to unfold and only drivers side does so.
Drove home and got petrol on the way.  Then noticed the passenger's one had opened up!
Tried button again.  Only drivers side one folds.
After 3 goes.  That stopped working too.

No whirr or noises just nothing.
Have left car to try tomorrow to see if it works again.

I'm assuming button control issue if no mirror noises and it effects both sides?
Can't see how micro switches on both sides would fail now.  Besides at one point at least one side still worked

Wierd. Do you only get x attempts? Is there a reset procedure.

Let's see what tomorrow brings. ...

Today they work just fine.  I'm stumped but pleased.

Couple of things spring to mind
Primarily stopping to Get Petrol is a big no no for a diesel car..... :))
It could be signs of a weak battery, and the management system switching off consumer units? Though normally you'd get a high rate discharge warning on I drive......

Somethings amiss as my wife said the passenger's mirror did the delayed unfold this morning!

Thanks for the tip might review in icarly

Passengers side failed permanently today.  No longer folds at all. Car will need to be looked at by a dealer now.  It's in warranty so ok

Actuation Failure - Passenger Side Mirror defective.

Could be wiring between door and body so worth checking the connectors for corrosion/water intrusion.

Thanks x5sport.  Is that door panel off  or are there connectors to check elsewhere?

Not sure on the E70, but look to see where the cables cross from car to door would be my first thought.
