Morning all!!! I've just bought a 55 plate x5 e53. My indicator light on the dash flashes like mad when turning right. I've changed the bulb as I thought it was that. Nope. Swapped left to right. Works fine on left...... so not bulb holder. Anyone had similar or is this a common fault with the light unit??? Tganks

Checked all 3 bulbs?  Front/Rear/Side Repeater?

Could be bad wiring a little further back if the holder is OK.

Yes. Front and repeater working fine. That's what had me baffled. Just thought.... bulb.

I was going to mention try swapping all the bulbs from one side to the other, maybe one is an LED, so not getting enough resistance on one side, but enough to not trigger the bulb out warning ( or that's been turned off )

So is it just the indicator on the dash going nuts or are the side lights flashing at the same speed?

No indication from the actual unit on the rear right. Left all working fine. Dash light flashing ok when I indicate left. Just going nuts when I indicate right!!!

Rear light units are known to go bad due to water ingress.  You may have to remove it to have a careful look at the wiring and connector at that end.  It could be in the plug that connects the car to the light unit itself.

Removed today. All connections cleaned with wire wool. ...... working fine!
