Have you got the CCC or CIC IDrive.
I have CCC, I have 2 keys, each key has its own memory for settings, when I open the car with my key it alters the mirrors , seat, climate control, radio station , all the satnav settings etc to memory one on the electric seat settings.
When my wife uses the second key, the settings are different, iPod is default, mirrors and seat different, satnav has different screen setup etc. Try pressing the memory buttons on the seat to program the same settings for both one and two.
